Option DVGW G 469 B3 - 222603
Pressure tests on gas pipes in accordance with DVGW G 469 and G 459-1
Pressure tests are an essential part of the commissioning, maintenance and condition assessment of gas pipes. The technical rules of the DVGW define graded test procedures for this purpose, which are based on the type of pipe, operating condition and area of application. The pressure measurement procedure B3 according to DVGW G 469 for gas pipes and the abbreviated pressure measurement procedure according to DVGW G 459-1 for gas network connection pipes play a central role here.
You can find more information on worksheet G 469 in our blog here and here.
In addition to compliant implementation, secure, traceable and audit-proof documentation of the measurement results is crucial for operators and contractors. The smart memo with our digital documentation system Esders Connect supports operators and service providers in reliably implementing the complex requirements of the regulations.
Option DVGW G 469 B3 in smart memo
The DVGW G 469 B3 option expands the smart memo specifically for performing and documenting the B3 pressure measurement procedure in accordance with DVGW G 469 and the abbreviated pressure measurement procedure for gas network connection pipes in accordance with DVGW G 459-1.
The option supports users in the structured recording of all relevant test parameters such as test pressure, measurement duration and pressure curve. During the test, the measured values are continuously recorded and clearly displayed. On this basis, the smart memo automatically creates a complete test report – manual recordings and transcription errors are avoided.
The option is suitable for tests on gas distribution pipes as well as for existing network connection pipes. It offers users a powerful tool for carrying out pressure tests in accordance with DVGW G 469 and G 459-1 in a compliant, efficient and legally secure manner.
A video tutorial on how to perform the G469 B3 pressure test with smart memo can be found here.
In the B3 pressure measurement procedure on distribution pipes, you can use our additional ‘dynamic pressure test’ function to keep the stabilisation phase as short as possible (but as long as necessary). You can see how this works in this explanatory video on dynamic pressure testing.
Regular adaptation of the option to current regulations
The DVGW's technical regulations are subject to continuous development, for example through revisions, supplementary sheets or new requirements resulting from changed operating conditions. A current example is the adjustments in connection with hydrogen admixture in the gas distribution network, as described in supplement G 469-B1 (07/2024), among others. This adjustment has already been implemented in smart memo.
Every option in the smart memo is regularly adapted to current specifications. Existing test procedures are reviewed and, if necessary, expanded or updated so that users can always work in accordance with the latest state of the art and applicable regulations. The smart memo thus offers long-term investment security and supports future-proof testing of gas pipelines – even against the backdrop of new energy sources.
