Option HSA Wastewater pressure pipes - 222635
Regular inspection of pressure sewer pipes
Pressure sewer pipes are subject to particular mechanical and chemical stresses during operation. Regular leak and condition tests are necessary to ensure long-term operational safety and prevent environmental damage. Pressure sewer pipes are considered to be installations requiring monitoring. The operator of a system requiring monitoring must ensure that the system is inspected to verify that it is in a safe and proper condition on a regular basis!
Further information can also be found in this blog – Recurring inspections of pressure sewer pipes – HSA procedure.
The HSA procedure was developed as a recurring leak test for pressure sewer pipes. This procedure is based on the test procedures from EN 805 and has been adapted to the boundary conditions of existing pressure sewer pipes in operation, e.g. a significantly lower test pressure, a shorter test duration and other requirements for the absence of air are used. Leaks and abnormalities in the pipe system can thus be detected at an early stage.
In Bavaria, the HSA procedure is now mandatory in accordance with the LFU Bavaria information sheet ‘Sewage pumping stations and pressure sewer pipes’.
For operators and service providers outside Bavaria, the HSA standard procedure is also a meaningful and easy-to-implement procedure for complying with the self-monitoring regulation for pressure sewer pipes.
Option HSA Wastewater in smart memo
The HSA Wastewater option extends the smart memo specifically for performing and documenting tests on pressure sewer pipes in accordance with the HSA procedure. The option supports users in systematically recording all test-relevant measurement data and ensures transparent evaluation of pressure and time curves. In addition to professional execution, structured, traceable documentation of the tests is crucial for operators and service providers. The smart memo in combination with Esders Connect makes an important contribution here by automatically recording, evaluating and audit-proof documenting measured values and storing them centrally.
The LFU Bayern offers a comprehensive (complex) Excel tool specifically for the HSA procedure to evaluate the pressure drop test, absence of air and the main test. This tool is not required with smart memo! All functions of the Excel tool are already integrated in smart memo, which automatically provides a complete and standard-compliant test report.
The HSA Wastewater option includes two test procedures:
• HSA standard procedure: Standard procedure for performing leak tests on existing pressure sewer pipes
• HSA 20-minute test: Abbreviated procedure for assessing leak tightness, e.g. for pressure sewer pipes with limited decommissioning options. This procedure may only be used in exceptional cases and after consultation with the water management authority
Both procedures can be carried out fully automatically with the appropriate accessories (similar to that described here)!
