OLLI

A robust companion for pipeline builders, gas suppliers, and water supply and sewage companies: Esders GmbH presented its new OLLI multi-range measuring instrument for the first time at gatIwat in Berlin in October 2018.

The explosion-proof gas warning and measuring device detects flammable and toxic gases as well as oxygen and operates in different measuring ranges. The OLLI thus covers a very wide range of applications. In addition, individual device configurations for different areas of application are possible.

“The OLLI combines a multitude of different functions in one device. At the same time it can be adapted to the respective requirements of our customers, around 100 different configurations are possible”, says Managing Director Bernd Esders. For example, the customer can decide which sensors are to be installed in the device, which measuring ranges the device is to have and whether the device is to be operated with an accumulator or batteries.

Customers can also choose between a diffusion device and a device with integrated pump. On request, the OLLI can be delivered with customer-specific settings.

Ergonomic and extremely resistant housing

Protected by an ergonomic and extremely rugged two-component synthetic housing, the OLLI achieves protection class IP 67 and offers functions and menus according to DVGW worksheet G465-4. The measuring range for combustible gases (methane) covers 0 to 100% of the lower explosion limit (LEL) and 0 to 100% by volume. The lower measuring range (ppm) is optionally available, so that the device can also be used for gas detection in domestic installations. For carbon monoxide the measuring range is 0 to 1000 ppm, for hydrogen sulphide 0 to 200 ppm. To determine the oxygen content during the commissioning of gas pipelines, the OLLI operates in the range of 0 to 25 volume percent for oxygen with appropriate sensor technology. Other functions are currently optional propane calibration and pressure measurement.

With the combination of the measurement of combustible gases, carbon monoxide and hydrogen E, the OLLI is also suitable for initial use in the event of malfunction reports of biogas plants. With the optional infrared sensor for combustible gases and carbon dioxide, the OLLI becomes a specialist for workspace monitoring. To allow users to concentrate on their core activities, the operation and menu navigation have been deliberately designed to be simple and intuitive. The proven operating concept with the function keys F1 and F2 as well as the ENTER key was supplemented by an ESC/Back key to end an action or to return to the main menu.
