Leak detector LS 01 - 581003

Water escaping under pressure produces sounds that travel through the water column, the pipe and the ground. These sounds can be recorded, amplified and made audible to the human ear using the LS 01.

The LS 01 was developed by practitioners as a listening device for detecting and localising leaks or for inspecting domestic plumbing systems. The device is characterised by its light weight and extremely simple operation. The microphone technology allows sounds to be recorded across a very wide frequency range. The LS 01 is suitable for all pipe materials, as the microphone’s frequency response ranges from 35 Hz to 2000 Hz. As a listening device for rapid deployment – either with a short probe or extended to test-rod length using two extensions – the LS 01 is suitable for all applications involving leak detection and noise identification. A resonance disc and a magnet, available as accessories, enable the detection of subsurface sounds or leak noises in installation areas or on solid surfaces. The LS 01 is operated via a volume control and a button to activate the amplifier. The signals are transmitted to the user’s ear via a pair of headphones.
